Values = Purpose

WHY Values, when you are looking for your life purpose?

When you are struggling with your purpose in life it can be hard to step back to re-evaluate or establish your values. But there are some easily achievable “baby steps” to begin the process. These are not golden rules or silver linings, but a stepping off point that does not even mention values. It starts with quietening your surrounds, mind & body in 5 simple steps to prepare you to open up to and realise your values.

  • Aromatherapy & Essential Oils

Introducing essential oils into your life can be as simple as spraying a room with a wonderfully aromatic scent or perhaps a few drops onto a tissue and tucked under your pillow for a calm night's sleep. Oils have been used for thousands of years for many medicinal purposes & it's fantastic to see a resurgence of these oils as an option for our mental well-being and overall health.

  • Mindful Breathing

Becoming aware of our mindful breath allows us to focus on our breath more easily in daily life activities. It will assist with managing stress, increase the self-awareness of your mind and body, improve your emotional well-being and relax the body. Plus, it allows you a more 'restful' sleep at the end of the day.

  • Relaxation

Time alone to chill out without having to overthink, giving yourself time to relax your muscles should not be a 'special' treat but a regular event. Even when you can't feel tension, you can be pleasantly surprised once you have relaxed at how different you feel in body and mind. We can all get caught up in the activity of life, and it's not until you come down with a cold or start to feel you are dragging your feet that you realise you've been overdoing it and need some time out.

  • Yoga & Mediation

By making Yoga & Meditation part of your daily life in whatever time you have and including it in your daily routine, you can ensure to enjoy it every day – and reap the health benefits.

Ways to incorporate yoga into your daily life:

    • Alternate Nostril Breathing. Do this while driving to work and sitting at traffic lights

    • Shoulder stretches and forward folds. Do these at your desk to relieve tightness and tension

    • Practice deep breathing as much as possible throughout the day

  • Vision Journal

I could talk about Vision Boards and Journals forever. I love them and enjoy the quiet stimulating process of creating and writing. If there is one action I have taken to change my life, introducing a Vision Journal into my daily practice, would have to be the most

    beneficial for keeping me focused.

A Vision Journal is similar to a vision board but with so many more benefits. They allow you to create more themes in one place like: family, career, health, travel, relationships, hobbies, passions, goals, and dreams.

You can be as creative as you wish with pictures, photos, your own writings, poems, captions, affirmations, and drawings.

A few words on getting prepared to work on your Vision Journal. It is difficult to see clearly when your head is spinning with the activities of life. This is why it is No. 5 as I am hoping you have incorporated Tips 1-4 already in your life.

Don’t hold back thinking that what you want to write is too big or you don’t beleive it is something you can achieve. We are only limited by our own beliefs!
